As a farmer, I'm still a little baffled at the magnitude of perceived knowledge, expertise, and strongly held beliefs of people, most of whom have never set foot on a farm. People settle on whose "facts" they have decided to believe, and won't be shaken by any information to the contrary. As previously stated, U.S. farms are well over 90% family owned and multi-generational. Most farmers look upon their farm as an extension of themselves and their families, generations past and future. I will always choose to eat conventionally-produced food, and will provide that for my children and grandchildren. I won't state my reasons why as they wouldn't be accepted by many.
I will gladly state my compassion for the hungry people in the world. I don't want to take away from their right to eat for the sake of over-hyped issues . I will also proudly point out that farmers are not unchanging and don't work in a static environment, but order essay online products too. They constantly adapt new technology and new techniques as they strive for a better way. The breaking plow has been dead now for many years, and the improvement in sustainability is constantly and dramatically improving.
